Why This Award Matters
Academic research drives progress in public health, clinical practice, and social policy. The Axis Journal Best Paper Award celebrates research that demonstrates:

By recognising excellence, we aim to encourage researchers to push the boundaries of interdisciplinary knowledge.
Judging Criteria
All eligible papers are evaluated by an independent judging panel comprising editorial board members and external subject experts.

Judging Panel & Integrity
- The judging panel comprises 3–5 members: at least 2 from the AJMBS editorial board and 2–3 external subject experts.
- Any panel member with a conflict of interest (e.g., co-author of a nominated paper) must declare it and recuse themselves from voting on that paper.
- The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Looking Ahead
In subsequent years, the prize amount will increase to £500 as the journal grows. We also plan to introduce category-specific awards (e.g., Best Early-Career Researcher Paper, Best Policy-Relevant Paper) to recognise diverse contributions.
